Anita offers a wide range of Mental Health & Wellness workshops. The workshops are trauma-informed, grounded in Indigenous culture and embodiment, participant-driven, and follow the psychodramatic-curve, which means sessions begin with resourcing and end with empowerment. Her workshops and presentations are engaging and can be tailored to meet community, family and organizational needs.
Anita has trained and worked alongside many well respected Indigenous elders and healers. She offers cultural teachings, perspectives and practices that bring awareness and understanding to the Indigenous experience of trauma and resiliency, Indigenous wellness and healing.
Anita has interned and now works alongside her elder/mentor Jane Middleton-Moz offering various presentations, workshops and community interventions including Intergenerational Family Healing sessions.
Anita is an experienced & skilled educator. Since 2019 Anita has been a sessional lecturer with the University of Toronto Factor-Inwentash Master of Social Work in Indigenous Trauma & Resiliency program where she teaches Trauma & Addiction.
Anita completed her Somatic ExperiencingⓇ Training in 2004 and has assisted with a number of Somatic ExperiencingⓇ International training sessions, where she also offered Indigenous ceremony.
Anita is a certified Circle of SecurityⓇ Parent Facilitator.
Prior to the Circle of SecurityⓇ parenting program, Anita engages participants in an exploration and rich discussion of Indigenous values, beliefs; parenting practices; colonization and cultural oppression; and Indigenous resilience. This discussion provides a contextual understanding and reaffirms the strength and resilience of Indigenous people, communities and culture.
